Street Market
Buying and selling used goods in the UAE.
A marketplace for second-hand goods with a real Buy button instead of a haggling thread. List in under a minute, free. Sellers pay 5%, and only on a sale that actually completes.
Classifieds in this region are noisy, and most of the friction sits in the sale itself: negotiation in the open, no clear close, and a chat thread that never ends. Street Market compresses the whole loop.
A buyer either takes the asking price outright or sends one offer below it. The seller accepts or declines — there are no counter-offers. Accepting opens a private chat for twenty-four hours to arrange the handover, and that is the only chat on the platform. It exists to agree a time and place, not to reopen the price.
Listing is free, with no limit and no fee to renew or bump. Sellers who would rather not type can record a voice note or let the platform read their photos, and the description is drafted from what they actually said or showed.
Payment happens in person, directly between the two people. Street Market never touches the money and never charges the buyer. Commission is 5% of the agreed price, charged to the seller, accrued and billed at the end of the month — and waived in full if a sale falls through.
Marketplaces die on the supply side. If listing costs anything — money, time, or a tedious form — the catalogue stays empty and the demand side never arrives. So the business only earns when a seller actually gets paid. The incentive is aligned by construction rather than by policy.
